Description
The Gabelli School of Business at Fordham University welcomes applicants for a full‑time Assistant Clinical Professor to teach our introductory Undergraduate Ground Floor course. The standard teaching load for a Non‑Tenure‑Track full‑time position is 8 courses, scheduled in the Fall and Spring semesters. The salary, commensurate with qualifications and experience, will be in the range $115,000 - $125,000.
We are looking for faculty with a successful career in industry and substantive experience across business functions, industries, or sectors to teach the undergraduate course “The Ground Floor,” our showcase business course for first‑year students. Adecuado candidates will bring firsthand knowledge of how business operates in practice, including exposure to roles, functions, and career pathways in areas such as marketing, finance, consulting, operations, media, or technology.
The course is interdisciplinary, introducing students to the business environment and teaching what we mean by business with purpose. A central expectation of this role is the ability to translate industry experience into the classroom by introducing students to real‑world business concepts, professional expectations, and career pathways. The position requires collaboration with a large number of faculty members who teach different sections of the course. The faculty member in this full‑time position must also coordinate with adjunct faculty and external guest speakers.
While the primary teaching responsibility is to teach the Ground Floor course, the Dean of the Business School may instead assign the faculty member to teach courses in the Communications and Media Management Area, such as the Career Exploration course for first‑yea
