- Ensures purchasing documentation files are properly organized.
- Negotiates contracts and or discounts with manufacturer/suppliers for inventory and non-inventory items and then submits recommendations to the Purchasing Manager.
- Obtains qualifications for new vendors and the proper setup in the Approved Supplier List (ASL) controlled by Quality.
- Provides timely accurate, detailed lead time and cost info to support Sales RFP/RFQ/RFI for external customers/proposals.
- Establishes good relations with all vendors
- Ensures capital expenditure policies and coding are appropriately followed.
- Works with Accounting on all invoice and receiving discrepancies.
- Oversees the preparation of company’s purchase orders.
- Assists in resolving shipment and inventory receipt discrepancies or problems.
- Assists with reviewing and coding of inventory and non-inventory items.
- Maximizes the use of the Oracle system and uses the system to optimize work performance.
- Other related tasks as assigned.
- Proactively anticipates and troubleshoots problems and implements solutions or recommends solutions to appropriate resources for problem resolution.
- Ensures that suppliers meet or exceed contractual commitments and that correct and optimal prices are paid for materials
- 2-3 years of experience in purchasing is a must.
- An AA degree in business or related field is required.
- Advanced verbal and written English skills is essential.
- Knowledge of ISO9100 is required and AS9100D Quality Management Systems is preferred.
- Computer skills with knowledge of ERP/MRP, Excel spreadsheets and Word.
- Knowledge of Oracle ERP EBS computer system.
- Demonstrated cost savings/cost reduction history and has an understanding of LEAN inventory management strategies.
- Accounting and financial understanding (Cost of Sales, Fixed assets, Invoicing, Purchasing)
- Knowledge of inventory tracking & control (Physical inventories, Fixed assets, Min-Max, etc.)
