PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES**:**
The local tax specialist will be responsible for supporting, coordinating and executing of tax matters of the subsidiaries of companies acquired by SAP and SAP legacy subsidiaries in the regions Latin America in a shared operations/ COE mode. He/ She will be primarily working on all areas of taxation including but not limited to**:- Tax compliance in indirect taxes (VAT/GST)
- Tax compliance in direct taxes (Corporate Income Tax / WHT)
- Tax Accounting
- Transfer pricing
- Tax audit and tax litigationfor the respective subsidiaries and will work closely together with the LTM responsible for the respective countries. He/ She will support on acquired company specific tax related topics (specific business model, historical information, ongoing audits and litigation, access to legacy IT system, legal entity consolidation etc.) as well as standard tax activities for SAP’s legacy subsidiaries in the regions. Together with the LTMs and in a team of other local tax specialists onsite they will ensure tax compliance for each specific legal entity in the respective countries.**EXPECTATIONS AND TASK**:- Ensure that the subsidiaries meet full internal and external compliance requirements.
- Manage, in cooperation with country LTM, relationship to external advisors and independent auditors, in particular supporting and managing tax matters handled by such external advisors in the area of (i) tax compliance e.g. CIT and VAT returns including monthly/quarterly returns, (ii) tax accounting, (iii) WHT,(iv) transfer pricing, (v) tax audit and tax litigation. Preparing information, documentation and necessary reconciliations. Identification and rectification of errors. Mitigation on missing data. Preparation of back
- up documentation.
- Very close collaboration with colleagues in Shared Service Centre, with a goal to ensure stable processes and high quality of tax relevant data.
- Standardization of heterogeneous tax processes around VAT/GST, WHT and Tax Audit Support.
- Ambition to strive for better ways on tax compliance work through automation and use of smart technologies.
- Manage exemption or registration processes around indirect taxes and WHT.
- Manage exchange of data and other relevant information (e.g. General Ledger, VAT/Sales Tax reports, Data on perm. / timing differences, info on payments for WHT, etc.) to external advisors.
- Ensure in cooperation with external advisors and country LTM appropriate tax relevant accounting topics for subsidiaries under responsibility.
- Manage tax risks. Provide tax support for the legal entities of responsibility on tax audits in cooperation with an external service provider where applicable.
- Assist with communication and negotiations with government authorities relating to tax matters in respect to the relevant acquired subsidiaries in coordination with Regional Tax Manager.
- Ensure compliance with group wide Transfer Pricing Policy in cooperation with external service provider where applicable.
- Support tax consideration on financing, funds flow management, post tax payments, etc.
- Manage tasks around purchasing of third-party tax consulting services as well as respective tasks around invoicing and budgets.
- Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and building good business relations with key stakeholders.
- Support quarter end close and the preparation of tax returns
- Tax audit support via extraction and analysis of data, provide data in a format to be submitted to tax auditors, provide sales and purchases invoices & contracts as requested by the tax auditors.
- Support cross border deals, e.g. by collecting facts and circumstances.
- Preparation of reconciliations, creating Pos, adhoc tasks such as analysis of entertainment expenses, GL reviews etc., Analysis of invoices/ budgets, Administration of C-users (creation, maintenance etc.)**EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS/WORK EXPERIENCE**:- Education in Tax, Finance or Accounting.
- 1-5+ years working experience with exposure to tax function and tax relevant transactions**SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES**:- Willingness to start installing shared operations in a very strong collaboration between LTMs and stakeholders in GFSS/ SSC. Vision on pioneering to build a new collaboration mode with creative ideas to do things differently.
- Experience with tax related transactions (towards customers and vendors as well as internal reporting).
- Willingness to develop further on international tax topics (direct taxes, GST/VAT/Service Taxes, withholding taxes and transfer pricing).
- Strong pro-active work management. Problem solver with ability to work independently and under time pressure.
- Ability to anticipate and manage change.
- Team player with good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Fluent in English.
- Good knowledge of SAP-ERP System.
- Good knowledge of finance organization and organizational infrastructure of SAP.
