This role is ideal for an experienced risk professional with hands-on expertise in credit risk assessment and strong familiarity with LATAM's financial landscape, including local data sources, regulatory frameworks, and market practices. The ideal candidate combines analytical strength with strategic thinking, and can drive complex initiatives in a matrixed, cross-functional environment.\nIn its initial phase, the role will focus primarily on manual underwriting of B2B customers in the region, with the goal of gradually transitioning toward more scalable, data-driven risk assessment processes.\nThe Senior Risk Manager will report to the Global Director of Portfolio Risk Management and collaborate closely with the central Risk, BizOps, and Data teams, as well as with the local LATAM GTM, playing a critical role in developing and localizing risk strategies.\nAbout the Working Capital Product The Working Capital product is designed to provide e-commerce and B2B businesses with the financial support they need to seize opportunities, manage cash flow, and drive growth. Whether looking to invest in inventory, expand operations, or cover unexpected expenses, Payoneer offers tailored financing solutions to help businesses achieve their goals with ease and confidence.\nWhat you'll do:\n\n
- Manual Underwriting: Own the end-to-end underwriting process for LATAM B2B customers, including eligibility assessment, credit approvals, and exception handling.

- Portfolio Monitoring: Monitor and analyze portfolio performance, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities to improve decision-making and reduce risks.
\n
- Underwriting Process Design: Design and implement scalable, data-driven underwriting frameworks by leveraging local data sources, partnering with regional vendors, and incorporating market best practices.
\n
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the local GTM teams and global Risk, BizOps, and Data stakeholders to align risk strategy with broader business goals. Partner closely with local GTM and Sales teams to enable responsible growth, balancing risk appetite with commercial objectives.
\n\nWho you are:\n\n
- At least 7 years of experience in risk management, underwriting, or related financial analysis roles — with proven experience in the LATAM B2B market.
\n
- Hands-on experience in manual underwriting of B2B customers or SMBs, including interpreting financial statements and evaluating creditworthiness.
\n
- Familiarity with local data sources, credit bureaus, and scoring models used in LATAM risk evaluation.
\n
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to operate in both detailed and high-level contexts.
\n
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working in matrixed, global organizations.
\n
- Fluent in Spanish and English (Portuguese is a plus).
\n\nNot a must but a great advantage:\n\n
- Familiarity with fraud prevention tools and early warning indicators relevant to the LATAM market.

- Experience with risk scoring models or decision engine platforms.
\n
- Experience working in a fast-paced or cross-functional environment.
