- Develop, update, and maintain technical documentation in support of R&D;
\n\nInitiatives, Including\n\n
- Software release user guides and release notes
\n
- Hardware quick reference guides and setup documentation
\n
- Feature, configuration, and troubleshooting documentation
\n
- Product documentation based on inputs such as design specifications, Jira tickets,
\n\ncode comments, and SME interviews.\nCollaboration with R&D; and Product Teams\n\n
- Work under the guidance of the in-house technical writer to execute documentation
\n\nplans and priorities.\n\n
- Collaborate with engineers, QA, and product managers to gather technical details
\n\nand validate accuracy.\n\n
- Participate in project kickoffs, reviews, and release milestones as needed.
\n\nContent Development in MadCap Flare\n\n
- Author and structure content in MadCap Flare using established templates, styles,
\n\nand best practices.\n\n
- Apply topic-based authoring, reuse, and conditional content where appropriate.
\n
- Ensure content aligns with existing navigation, publishing workflows, and
\n\ndocumentation standards\nEditing, Review, and Release Support\n\n
- Update existing documentation to reflect new features, fixes, or hardware revisions.
\n
- Incorporate feedback from the in-house technical writer and other stakeholders.
\n
- Support documentation readiness for software and hardware releases.
\n\nLight Technical Maintenance\n\n
- Maintain internal links, references, and formatting consistency within assigned
\n\ndocumentation sets.\n\n
- Identify gaps or outdated content and raise recommendations to the in-house technical writer.
\n\nKnowledge Transfer & Documentation Standards\n\n
- Follow established documentation standards and contribute to continuous
\n\nimprovement.\n\n
- Provide handoff notes and context for documentation updates to support team
\n\ncontinuity\nEngagement Details\n\n
- Time Commitment: Approximately 20 hours per week
\n
- Duration: 1-2 year temporary contract
\n
- Authoring Tool: Madcap Flare
\n
- Reporting / Guidance: Led by an in-house, experienced technical writer
\n
- Work Model: Project-based assignments aligned with active R&D; efforts
\n
- Collaboration: Regular interaction with engineering and product teams; brief
\n\nweekly check-ins\n\n
- Primary Focus: Technical writing and release documentation (not marketing or UX
\n\ncontent)\nRequired Skills & Experience\n\n
- 1-3+ years of experience in technical writing, preferably supporting software and/or
\n\nhardware products.\n\n
- Experience creating user guides and release documentation.
\n
- Working knowledge of MadCap Flare, Adobe desktop publishing tools
\n\n(Indesign/Illustrator), Git version control, and Jira issue tracking platform.\n\n
- Ability to quickly understand technical concepts and communicate them clearly.
\n
- String attention to detail and ability to manage multiple documentation tasks.
\n
- Comfortable working under guidance and incorporating editorial feedback.
