The Senior Surveyor plays a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy, quality, and continuous improvement of surveying processes.Key Accountabilities1. Professional Specialist:
- Acts as a professional specialist, applying in-depth knowledge of Rules, Regulations, and industry concepts.
- Keeps abreast of new developments and recommends changes to surveying processes and safety programs.
2. Inspection and Reporting:
- Conducts routine surveys on classed ships, offshore installations, or marine assets to ensure compliance with classification and statutory requirements.
- Prepares technically accurate and timely reports of inspections and surveys.
3. Leadership and Coordination:
- Plans, schedules, and coordinates various phases of surveying work.
- Monitors the quality of service, providing guidance to less experienced surveyors.
4. Client Interaction:
- Engages with clients to solve problems within the area of expertise.
- Ensures client satisfaction through effective communication and resolution of issues.
5. Training and Development:
- Provides guidance and training to less experienced surveyors.
- Contributes to the development and improvement of the skills and knowledge of the surveying team.
6. Quality Assurance:
- Ensures the maintenance of quality, content, consistency, and continuity of work performed.
7. Ethical Conduct:
- Upholds the highest ethical standards in all professional interactions, ensuring integrity, transparency, and fairness in survey processes.EducationMaster’s Degree in Naval EngineeringQualifications- Minimum 3 years’ experience working as a Surveyor or at least 6 years’ experience in engineering or inspection/survey fields with an IACS member Classification Society.
- Understanding of RINA's strategic technical positioning in the marine industry sector.
- Proficiency in English, suitable for classification, statutory certification, and related services.
- Ability to develop a working knowledge of RINA Rules, Guides, regulations, and safety policies.
- Knowledge of ship engineering systems, machinery, and shipbuilding practices.
- Ability to perform new building surveys and ship in-service surveys, including assessments, inspections, and certifications.
