When the user arrives at the location the system tells them what the expected queue time will be.**We invite you to our company, not a project****PROJECT OVERVIEW**Support of the legacy database system and oversee the building & setup of the replacement PostgreSQL-based setup.**We create a restriction-free environment****We let you concentrate on your job****POSITION OVERVIEW**We are looking for a Database Engineer with AWS, Aurora/MySQL, and Postgres experience. The system is being rewritten as of now. The old system is about 1Tb in size and is hosted on Aurora MySQL on its performance optimizations, deployment migration scripts and various simple DBA tasks have to be implemented. The new system is using PostgreSQL database, here the structure of the schema and database configurations has to be evaluated, query and performance optimizations have to be made. Occasional late evening (till 9 pm GMT+4) calls may be possible as the client’s team works in the US time zone.**TECHNOLOGY STACK**
Java, Jboss, Hibernate, Amazon Aurora, AWS**Responsibilities**
- Developing and supporting 1Tb+ SQL databases
- Working on database performance optimizations
- Configuring tools for monitoring, managing, alerting, and improving customer database performance
- Developing and implementing automated processes that ensure the uninterrupted updating and correction of database vulnerabilities
- Working with the development team to enables a smooth transition of database services from the development phase to production support
- Providing consultations, training, and mentoring for the development team
- Active participation in upgrading & migration of DBMS systems
- Root cause analysis and troubleshooting
- Support for production systems must be prepared for regular on-call duty**Requirements**:- 3+ years of proven experience in SQL Server products, SQL programming
- Knowledge of the general principles of Data Warehousing and Data Lakes
- Experience working with MySQL, PostgreSQL, or other SQL DBMSes
- Knowledge of cloud infrastructure and experience with AWS
- Strong knowledge of Data general concepts
- Good understanding of data tuning, automated data quality testing
- Solid experience with data modelling and data wrangling
- Good spoken English**Nice to have**
- Experience working with cloud services (AWS, Azure)
- Experience building scalable high-load data processing systems (SQL /NoSQL/sharding/distributed messaging systems)
- Experience managing a team of 5 or more developers
- Experience managing teams including QA, BA, and architects
