ChrysaLabs is an agricultural technology company that has developed a soil analysis solution based on spectroscopy and artificial intelligence that allows farmers to reduce fertilizer use and increase their crop yields.Our mission is to make agriculture more sustainable and profitable, and to facilitate the adoption of environmentally friendly farming practices through the use of our technology.We are currently seeking a machine learning software developer to accelerate the development of new solutions for large-scale carbon quantification projects.JOB DESCRIPTIONThe candidate will work within a data science team composed of data scientists and software engineers.
This role aims to support and enhance the team's analytical workflows by developing internal tools that facilitate data cleansing, transformation, analysis, and visualization.
The goal is to strengthen the team's ability to generate insights and produce high-quality reports for both clients and internal stakeholders.This is a technical position that requires strong programming and problem-solving skills, as well as a good understanding of data analysis, statistics, and the real-world needs of a data science team.MAIN RESPONSIBILITIESSupport data cleansing and integration to improve data quality and readiness for modeling and reportingDevelop and maintain internal tools to standardize the generation of insights, metrics, and visualizations used in client and internal reportsCollaborate closely with data scientists to understand modeling needs and ensure the technical infrastructure supports end-to-end workflowsApply a development approach to build scalable and maintainable systems, with a strong understanding of data science metrics, use cases, and evaluation criteriaContribute to the quality, consistency, and reliability of the team's analytical processes through a rigorous, tool-oriented approachPROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTSKNOWLEDGE AND SKILLSExcellent command of Python, including object-oriented programming, as well as data manipulation and visualization libraries (e.g., pandas, numpy, matplotlib, seaborn, plotly)Solid understanding of statistics and analytical workflows, including the challenges of field dataProficiency in version control tools (e.g., Git) and collaborative development best practicesAbility to translate analytical needs into clear, modular, and maintainable codeExcellent communication skills and collaborative spirit—able to work closely with data scientists and understand evolving needsAdaptability, autonomy, and resourcefulness in a dynamic and constantly changing environmentExperience developing internal tools or utilities to facilitate analysis or reporting in an efficient and standardized manner is an assetA strong interest in programming in a scientific contextKnowledge of spectroscopy and/or agronomyFamiliarity with and interest in Agile methodologyWHY PEOPLE ARE HAPPY AT CHRYSALABSCompetitive salary with stock options after the probationary period.
