Joining our team offers an opportunity to thrive in a dynamic environment while collaborating with passionate and talented professionals.We are looking for a Product Configuration Engineer who will be responsible for creating, developing, implementing and testing logic and rules for pricequoteconfiguration modules. This role bridges the gap between engineering and quoting process with BOMs creation and product configurations, requiring a technically skilled engineer with strong experience in manufacturing and a solid understanding of configurable product structures.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesSupport the creation, maintenance, and documentation of programmable rulesets with responsibility over product configuration accuracy ensuring alignment with product specs, engineering standards, product architecture and production workflow.
Test and validate rulesets, ensuring that project specs are met before deploying.
Work closely with product development, engineering and sales teams to translate configurable design requirements into robust CPQ models.
Maintain engineering Bills of Materials and routing BOMs for the companys standard product families.
Standardize and optimize how standard products are configured, quoted, and engineered by improving rule logic, product structures, and automated documentation.
Utilize ERP and CPQ software platforms to integrate product logic with internal business systems.
Partner with manufacturing and production teams to ensure CPQ outputs match fabrication and assembly needs.
Support internal users sales, estimators, engineers in using and understanding the CPQ system effectively.
Contribute to change management workflows related to product updates and standardization efforts.
Troubleshoot and resolve errors in CPQ outputs and logic, working crossfunctionally to implement corrections and improvements.
Identify opportunities for automation or standardization that improve process efficiency and quoting accuracy.QualificationsStrong experience developing or maintaining programmable rulesets Logic configuration, Bill Of Materials automation.
Strong understanding of manufacturing methods, part structures, and ERP systems.
Strong internal customerfacing mindset that ensures outputs meet their specific needs.
Familiarity with CAD platforms e.g., SolidWorks, Rhino and how design decisions impact fabrication.
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
Ability to write and troubleshoot configuration rules using logicbased scripting or rulebased engines coding fluency not required, but logic and structure are key.
Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across engineering, sales, and production teams.
Strong organizational skills with an eye for systematizing and simplifying complex product data.Education andor ExperienceBachelors degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Aeronautical Engineering, or related field.25 years of experience in manufacturing or product engineering roles.Experience working with rulebased systems, logic configuration platforms, or CPQ tools that require scripting or conditional logic e.g., Infor CPQ, Salesforce CPQ, etc..Demonstrated ability to write and troubleshoot scripts or logic using rule engines or scripting language within an engineering or configuration platform.
