- Lead various experience studies across MLH Retail Life and Annuities
- Oversee and review experience studies for accuracy and potential improvements
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure study results are delivered accurately and on time
- Manage multiple competing priorities to ensure they are prioritized for impact
- Create clear insight from complex actuarial and technical information
- Own and communicate assumption recommendations to actuarial stakeholders
- Develop internal actuarial and technical capabilities
- At least 5 years of actuarial experience
- Strong sense of accountability, understanding the broader implications of one's work, and ability to be entrusted with sensitive and financially impactful work
- Exceptional mathematical and analytical capabilities, including recognizing how actuarial factors interact through complex higher-order relationships and discerning key drivers from tertiary effects
- Strong strategic and operational leadership skills-formulating long-term vision, converting plan into actionable near-term steps, driving project delivery, and anticipating obstacles before they arise
- Skilled at managing multiple competing priorities while focusing on and prioritizing highest impact work
- Proven ability to provide meaningful and effective review of actuarial work- spotting methodological and operational errors, applying actuarial intuition to results-checking, and reviewing for reasonability through multiple lenses simultaneously
- Ability to navigate complex actuarial and technical information, and distilling it into simple, concise, and compelling insights
- Ability to learn quickly and develop deep expertise in various MetLife products and assumptions
- Undergraduate degree in mathematics, statistics, actuarial science or other quantitative field, or equivalent qualification
- Effective written and verbal communication skills (English language)
- Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders through active listening, clear articulation of issues, thoughtful recommendations, and effective coordination in time-sensitive environments
- Proven capacity to operate autonomously, take initiative, and oversee deliverables to completion
- Proactive mindset with a strong emphasis on improving processes via automation, AI capabilities, and simplification initiatives
- Advanced level Excel skills
- Interest in working with data analytics, database systems, and intelligence platforms
- Ability to present thought-out recommendations clearly and succinctly
- Prior experience in actuarial assumption setting
- Expertise in Retail Life and Annuity products
- Experience presenting recommendations to senior management
- Familiarity with data platforms, languages, and visualization software like Alteryx, SQL, and PowerBI
