This role is responsible for supervising the accounting team, maintaining compliance with applicable regulations, preparing key financial statements, and supporting leadership with strategic insights.\nThe Lead\nAccountant acts as a bridge between the accounting staff and senior management, ensuring the integrity of all financial data.\nResponsibilities\nManage the general ledger, month-end, and year-end closing processes.\nPrepare and reconcile monthly financial reports (P&L;, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) for management review.\nOversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations.\nEnsure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and internal controls.\nSupport annual audits and tax filings by preparing schedules and coordinating with external auditors.\nMaintain and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.\nSupervise and mentor junior accountants and accounting clerks.\nCollaborate with different teams to provide accurate data for budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.\nAssist management with variance analysis and ad hoc financial reporting requests.\nContribute to system implementations, process improvements, and automation initiatives.\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).\n5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.\nStrong knowledge of GAAP and regulatory requirements.\nProficiency working with D365 Business Central.\nAdvanced English proficiency (native or B2 level). Portuguese is a plus.\nExcellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.\nTechnical Skills\nHighly proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel.\nStrong attention to detail and accuracy.\nSkilled in implementing accounting and business controls.\nAbility to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.\nManagement Skills\nStrong written and oral communication.\nSound judgment and decision-making.\nCritical thinking and advanced problem-solving.\nAbility to lead, train, and develop junior staff.\nLocation: This position will require 3 days at the office: Artilleros 2436, Nuñez.\nOkeanos\nGroup, LLC, its subsidiaries, joint ventures, and partners are proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
