Sanofi discovers, develops, and distributes therapeutic solutions focused on the needs of patients around the world, embracing new transformative technologies.The “ **Public Affairs & Advocacy Specialist” **will be responsible for the strategic overall support in the implementation of the functional strategy in dealing with key issues that may impact Sanofi’s operation in the region or open business opportunities for the company.The role will have a particular focus on the fulfillment of internal policies and procedures (watchdog) and the spread of best practices inside the company (ambassador).The position will report to the Public Affairs Head South Cone and work closely with Public Affairs Managers as well as with other functions, businesses and workstreams (mainly Communications, Market Access, Commercial, Legal and E&BI;).The job has a regional perspective (South Cone countries with focus in Argentina) in terms of mapping relevant stakeholders, political actors, and issues.**Main Responsibilities**:- Strategic support in the engagement with Patient Advocacy Groups and Scientific organizations.
- Administrative guide and careful follow up to fulfill all needed requirements.
- Responsible for the permanent verification of compliance with all internal policies and procedures.
- Ambassador of good practices within the company and development of trainings to guarantee the correct implementation of procedures (i.e., interaction with PAG or public officials).
- Provides support for multi-functional and cross business Public Affairs activities aimed at preserving Sanofi’s right to operate and maps and identifies initiatives and programs that may lead to potential business opportunities and public-private partnerships.
- Deploys creative and sustainable business-oriented strategic stakeholders’ engagement matrix and plans. Early warning of changes and appointments in the political sphere and in the public administration. Preparation and identification of profiles and development of political maps. Update of stakeholders’ database for keeping the basic info of stakeholders and follow up the outcomes of engagement.
- Defines advocacy strategies on critical issues (positive agenda by strengthening relationships with key stakeholders, policy influencers, lawmakers and coalitions who may impact Sanofi's interests and business concerns and leverage business opportunities).
- Monitoring of key forums (events, chambers, associations, etc.) and proactive suggestions on where and how to participate based on the interests and possibilities of the company. Proactive and permanent search for opportunities for public appearance and positioning (congresses, chairs, etc.). Scheduling of public appearances, information dissemination, meetings, events, awards, presentations, etc.
- Collaboration in the writing, correction and editing of documents and materials as part of the engagement process (letters, texts, documentation, reports, presentations, etc.).
- Coordinates meetings and PA initiatives such as seminars and workshops.
- Defines clear and consistent action plans to tackle issues. Development of issues matrix to facilitate proactive involvement, prepares compelling cases and designs campaign plans to address business critical issues to avoid negative impact to operations and to promote business opportunities.
- Monitoring, follow-up, alert and analysis of regulatory projects, public policies, local, regional, and global regulatory trends and positions of the involved countries regarding major issues of interest. Proposal of possible resolution scenarios.
- Strategic involvement in daily activities of Public Affairs partnership in all GBU’s activities (support to PA Head and PA Mgrs).
- Support in the coordination of the PA Annual Planning Processes ensuring efficient alignment, strategic analysis, and key priorities business orientation to influence at local and regional level.**Major Challenges of the position**:- 3+ years of experience in government affairs, communications, market access or public relations (corporate sector / agencies). Experience in the public sector or in the pharmaceutical industry is a plus.
