- Broker Entry Audits: Review broker entries for accuracy, timely clearance, proper payment of duties/fees, and compliance with Section 232 tariffs, USMCA requirements, and Certificates of Origin (CoO).
- Food & Drug Administration (FDA) Compliance: Verify FDA import details, manage broker requests, and follow up on required documentation.
- Day-to Day Import Activity Management: Monitor pre-alerts, broker requests, missing information, and exceptions to ensure timely and accurate filing and resolution.
- Duty and Fee Accounting: Assign Automated Clearing House (ACH) codes for accurate payment and reconciliation of duties and fees.
- Audits and Metrics: Conduct audits, including Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT), broker performance metrics, and Anti-Dumping/Countervailing Duties (AD/CVD) compliance.
- Temporary Import Bonds (TIBs): Track and ensure proper closure of TIBs.
- Corrections and Reconciliation: Prepare documents for Post Summary Corrections (PSC), 520(d) claims, flag reviews, and file submissions to customs authorities.
- Duty Drawback: Manage processes to recover eligible duties and taxes on exported goods.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate import records for audits and regulatory compliance.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with customs brokers, logistics partners, and internal teams to resolve import-related issues and ensure smooth operations.
- Regulatory Compliance: Monitor global trade regulations and tariff changes, ensuring adherence to customs requirements and company policies.
- Reporting: Prepare regular reports on shipment status, duty costs, and compliance metrics.
- Process Improvements: Support special projects to optimize import operations and enhance trade compliance.
- Fluent in English communication both verbal and written.
- Basic knowledge of import/export processes and global trade regulations.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and identify trends.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with trade management software is a plus.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve import-related challenges efficiently.
- Adaptability: Willingness to learn and adapt to changes in global trade regulations and business needs.
- Team Collaboration: Work effectively in cross-functional teams and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.
