It is responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of all North Carolinians, providing human service needs for special populations including individuals who are deaf, blind, developmentally disabled, and mentally ill, and helping poor North Carolinians achieve economic independence.\nDescription Of Work The Nursing Home\nSurveyor (Nurse Consultant I) position involves regulatory activities to determine compliance of nursing homes with federal and state federal and state requirements through inspections.\nJob Responsibilities Include\nSurveying nursing homes during routine surveys and complaint investigations.\nCompleting survey reports, including statements of deficiency and complaint allegation findings. Must pass the Federal Surveyor Minimum Qualifications Test (SMQT) after training. This is a home-based position servicing Cabarrus, Davidson, Mecklenburg, Rowan, Stanly, and Union counties region.\nThe Nursing Home\nSurveyor spends an average of three days per week in nursing homes conducting inspections. Occasionally inspections are required on weekends and night shift. Although management attempts to schedule inspections within a region, the consultant needs to expect overnight stays when the nursing home is greater than 60 miles from their home-base.\nKnowledge Skills And\nAbilities/Management Preferences Salary Range: $62,044 - $102,371 Recruitment Range: $62,044 - $80,000 Candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they meet the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement.\nThe Knowledge\nSkills and Abilities/ Management Preferences are not required. Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred. Strong clinical background, including assessment, care planning and delivery of care.\nDemonstrated skills in communicating effectively.\nDemonstrated ability to compose technical reports using good grammar. This position is funded in part through federal funds. This position will close at 11:59 p.m. the night before the end date. The Division of Health Service Regulation oversees medical, mental health and adult care facilities, emergency medical services, and local jails.\nWe check to see that people receiving care in these facilities are safe and receive appropriate care.
